LL Cool Jack
There's no doubt that Jack is smooth. He loves the ladies and the ladies love him. He flirts, he winks, he snuggles, he's one bad mother-shutyourmouth. Watch out ladies, cuz he's watching you.
NakedNakedNaked!
How does bathtime, changing diaper time or even getting dressed time turn two small children into raving lunatics who feel compelled to run as fast as they can around the house screaming NAKEDNAKEDNAKED! The little one has seen what the big one does, so now he does it immediately. I caught Jack as he sprinted by me on his wobbly legs.

Happy Easter
The kids had a fun time collecting the eggs that the Easter Bunny left on Easter morning. Kate got an awesome Strawberry Shortcake visor that she had to wear during the hunt.

Later that morning we all dressed up and went to church. The kids weren't too excited to pose for pictures in their Easter best.

After getting home from church and taking a little nap, Jack found Kate's baseball cap and refused to take it off. He also decided to be very silly and spit water all over himself.

The Prom That Should Have Been OR
The Real Reason We Had to Ask Boys to Prom
So here's the picture that should have been taken 14 years ago. That's right, Melissa and I finally had our opportunity to go to the prom together. Back in 1994, we both had to ask underclassmen to our senior prom because no one asked us. After looking at the pictures of our latest prom night, I think I understand why no one wanted to ask either one of us.

Happy Birthday Brian!
32 years ago, a little baby was born...

That baby became a teenager...

Who soon turned into a fine looking young man...

The years have passed and that young man is now old and crazy...

But we love him anyway...Happy Birthday!!!

You've had a birthday shout HOORAY
We want to sing to you today
One year older and wiser too
Happy Birthday, To YOU!

A Kate Flashback
Since I put up the video of Jack walking, I though I would put up one of my favorite videos of Kate. Last summer (2007), she was really into performing her original songs on the big boulder in Grandma and Papa's front yard. She would make Papa introduce her, then she would come out and sing. (This is the short video -- I'll try to get the longer one uploaded.)
She's Once, Twice, Three Times a Princess
For Kate, one crown is not princess enough. On our most recent trip to Disneyland, Kate required three crowns (mini crown, crown clip and large pink crown - not pictured) to satisfy the princess in her. I was briefly allowed to wear the large pink crown (see Disneyland post below) until the princess demanded it back.
Disneyland
Kate and I love Disneyland! We try to go every few weeks and, thanks to Grandma generously watching Jack, we have had multiple Kate and Mommy days in the past few months. We have such a good time on 'Girls Day' and Kate is such a fun kid to be with. I kind of get the squishies when I'm with her because I'm so extremely proud to be her mom. Here we are on what used to be Tom Sawyer Island. It's now a pirate island with caves, forts and a stash of pirate treasure. These pics are us by the treasure, Kate pretending to find a crown on top of the treasure and me hoarding the treasure...by the way, Kate took the picture of me. Not bad!

Walkin' Man Loves the Ladies!
Jack started walking on Sunday night, March 2nd. Unfortunately, I was at a USC TriDelta meeting with him when he decided to walk over and flirt with the lovely ladies of the Theta Xi Chapter. I couldn't interrupt the meeting and yell "Holy Crap! My kid is walking across the room!" nor did I have a video camera on hand to record his first real steps. So here he is walking over to the offered iPod...not as much motivation as a USC TriDelt, but it will do!
My Kids Rock!
With the new year and the chaos that has been my life, I've decided to take control of something and change the look of the blog. We'll see what happens, maybe I'll change it back...I am seriously stubborn and opinionated you know!
Last weekend, the Watkins Family went hiking and had a fun afternoon. As we were coming down the mountain, the wind really picked up. I let go of Jack's stoller and the wind was so strong that it prevented the stoller from rolling down the hill. During this pause, Kate decided to lift her shirt to the wind and raise her arms. It was hilarious! Of course Jack had to copy his big sister, so the photo above is what we got. They are so funny and it's awesome to see their individual personalities developing each day.
