Pooping in a Corner

Why does Jack insist on creeping into a corner to poop? Kate did the same thing. Is it privacy? Maybe it's just a Watkins thing. I heard some grunting coming from behind some unpacked boxes in our living room. When I went to investigate, I smelled the perpetrator before I could actually find or see him. Only I would grab the camera before searching for my poopy kid.

The Road to Wal-Mart...Really?!

The Watkins Family has finally relocated it's center of operations to the bustling city of Lehi, Utah. I just wanted to give those of you who are "Keeping Up With the Watkins" a little taste of what life is like here in Lehi. It's a bit of a drive to the nearest city center, but I believe it's some kind of law that we have to shop at Wal-Mart. Here is what we see on the road (seriously, it's a two-lane road most of the way unless you get on the freeway) to Wal-Mart as soon as we turn out of our housing development:

I've taken the liberty of labeling the pictures so that those of you in L.A. or any other urban area know what you're looking at.

Thirty T-eewww

Yuck. I'm getting old. Sick. At least I can share my woe with Melissa and at least she will always be 12 days older. In sticking with tradition since we were tweeners, we had a joint birthday party to ring in 32. Of course the theme was supreme dorkness and we outdid ourselves. The celebration included a private karaoke room, costumes, props and friends willing to make fools of themselves. It's difficult to pick the best moment because there were so many:

1. "How Deep is Your Love" with Melissa
2. Travis leading the crowd in a sweet rendition of "Livin' on a Prayer"
3. Crossing color barriers with my African Princess Netfa for an "Ebony and Ivory" duet
4. "Footloose" in honor of the big move to Lehi
5. Oh, and a custom birthday cupcake from Blue Cupcake that says 'John Mayer is my boyfriend'

What more could a grown up girl ask for...except maybe to be 5 years younger, have fewer wrinkles, bigger boobs and a smaller nose.

The Little Mermaid Sing-A-Long at El Capitan Theater

Kate and I got up early to attend The Little Mermaid Sing-A-Long at El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. Before the movie, we ate breakfast next door at the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store. Ariel was there for pictures and there were tons of Little Mermaid themed crafts, including character masks. After breakfast we went to the theater for the show. Ariel introduced the show and large confetti guns shot fish confetti into the crowd to make it feel like we were 'Under the Sea'. It was a great way to get our L.A. fix before going to Utah.

Kate's First Date

Okay, so I know that Kate really isn't supposed to date until 16, but this was a very unique situation. With the upcoming move to Utah, Kate needed to have a special afternoon with her boyfriend, Seth (accompanied by their Moms). The young couple shared lunch and Seth gave Kate a beautiful necklace and a 'True Love' t-shirt to remember him by. Kate was so touched, she gave Seth a little goodbye sugar. When they get married in 20 years, we'll look back on these photos and smile.

Dork Day at Disneyland

Melissa and I are dorks and we fully embrace it. We LOVE to take retarded pictures of ourselves at Disneyland. Even at almost 32 we can't stop acting like we're 12. To remind us of our younger days, Melissa brought her 8th grade diary and notes from junior high/high school for us to read in line. It was so awesome and kind of scary how we are still the same. Oh, and 1 out of every 3 notes had a Going-to-Disneyland reference. Enjoy!
